The German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) created in 2015 the Special Initiative "One World, No Hunger" (SEWOH) that aims to eradicate extreme hunger and poverty. The Global Program "Responsible Land Policy" is one of presently 18 Programs implemented under the SEWOH.
The project component "Responsible Land Policy in Uganda" (RELAPU) is part of the Global Program "Responsible Land Policy) and implemented in Uganda. Responsible land-use as well as fair and secure land rights are a precondition for sustainable rural development. The RELAPU project focuses on three prongs which are: (i) sensitisation and awareness raising of the local population on land rights and responsibilities, (ii) alternative land-dispute resolution, and (iii) documentation of land rights for rural smallholder farm households and issuance of land inventory protocols and, if possible, formal land certificates.
The project works on Mailo and Customary tenure only and is implemented in Teso, Lango and West Nile and in Central Uganda. This tender concerns Amolatar district in Lango sub-region on customary land only.
