    II.1.4) Trumpas aprašymas:

DTU intends to procure a MYTHENIII microstrip detector system consisting of: - 24 MYTHENIII modules (1280 channels, 450 µm Si sensor) including transceivers. - Support and training during installation. - Technical support during the first year of operation. DTU will procure an X-ray microstrip detector for use on the DanMAX beamline at the MAX IV 3GeV synchrotron storage ring located in Lund, Sweden. The detector will be used for high-resolution powder X-ray diffraction. To fulfill the scientific requirements agreed with the funders, the detector must be of the Hybrid Pixel Array Detector (HPAD) type, as this technology has a superior signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range compared to all other area detector technologies available. It must be a 1D microstrip detector with a channel pitch of no more than 50 µm pitch to obtain the angular resolution required. Essential properties and specifications: Due to the very high X-ray flux at the DanMAX beamline, and to allow use of its full ability, it is im-perative that the count rate of the detector is as high as possible. The MYTHENIII system has a higher count rate than any other microstrip detectors available. Other beamlines with significantly lower flux are today limited by the commercially available detectors of this type. The MYTHENIII system further offers three independent thresholds that can be used to analyze pile-up, which can improve the count rate even further to ensure that we can use the high flux at DanMAX. The DanMAX beamline is built without higher harmonic rejection mirrors. To obtain the desired data quality the detector must have at least two, preferably three, thresholds for discriminating against higher harmonic contamination in the beam. Similarly, multiple thresholds will be used for fluorescence discrimination. The MYTHENIII system has three independent thresholds, whereas other available systems have only one and thus does not allow for higher harmonic rejection. The noise level is critical for the application and must be as low as possible. As the beamline operates at various energies the flat field must show minimal changes at various energies. In this regard, the MYTHENIII system is superior to commercial strip detectors. Advantages over other systems, potential for future developments: The MYTHENIII system has a much higher frame rate than commercially available detectors. This will be highly beneficial as it allows for faster time-resolved experiments. The detector will be used in the energy range 15-35 keV. At the higher photon energies the Si sen-sor will be less efficient due to lower absorption. It is preferred that the detector can be upgraded to a high-Z sensor if this technology becomes available. The MYTHENIII electronics is prepared for such an upgrade. No other available systems offer this upgradability.
