The FAIR particle accelerator facility is under construction in Darmstadt, Germany. It will use intense energetic heavy ion beams. It therefore requires a thick steel and concrete shielding of its Super-FRS target area. While the sidewalls are already being installed a steel roof over the about 30m long beam line section will be mounted after installation of the beamline itself.
