The National Transport Authority (the “NTA”) wishes to advise the market of its intent to commence a competition to establish a Framework Agreement for the Supply of Double Deck Battery Electric Buses. The NTA intends to commence this procurement procedure within the next six (6) months. At present, under the Framework Agreement the NTA may purchase upwards of 600 buses from one (1) or more Framework Member(s) over a period of five (5) or more years. The quantity of buses purchased through the Framework Agreement may be higher or lower than this quantity stated. The estimated value of the Framework Agreement is likely to be at least €400 million. The value of the Framework Agreement may be higher or lower than this value stated. The buses are primarily intended for use on urban bus services in all major cities in Ireland and, as such, will constitute a key enabler of the transition to a zero-emission urban bus fleet as part of the NTA's BusConnects programme of investment in bus services in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford, as well as facilitating the progression of key actions under the Irish Government's Climate Action Plan and National Sustainable Mobility Policy. The details set out above are indicative only and are fully subject to change at the NTA’s discretion. Full details shall be provided within the relevant procurement documents once published. The NTA does not require a response to this PIN.
