Oslo Municipality currently has a co-procurement contract for new furniture for offices, schools, and institutions that will expire in October 2023. UKE is now in the planning phase of a new co-procurement contract that will replace it. The objective of the co-procurement contract is to ensure efficient and simple access to furniture and fittings for the municipality's entities. The need for furniture and fittings is varies a lot amongst the contracting authority's entities. There are often different considerations that must be addressed, and there are strict requirements regarding functionalities, durability, user-friendliness, safety, ergonomics and, not least, environmental impact.

Oslo Municipality has ambitions to use procurements as a powerful policy in the work on circular economy thinking. The goal is that the municipality will get its need for furniture and fittings met, and at the same time, reduce the impact on the climate and environment.
