National road 70 currently crosses the river Driva at Elverhøy bridge from 1941, a concrete beam bridge. Parallel to this is a foot and cycle bridge that was constructed in 1982. These bridges will be demolished when the new Elverhøy bridge is completed.
The new Elverhøy bridge is to be constructed downstream, close to the existing Elverhøy bridge, as we do not want to move national road 70 more than is necessary. The area to the north east of the existing bridge must also be stabilised with a berm that will also function as erosion protection.
