The purpose of his request for tender is to procure scientific support to carry out further geotechnical investigations in an area of badly drained blanket bog, in an area referred to as Shranamuck (Figure 2), and adjacent to the current restoration work. The geotechnical investigation shall inform NPWS on how blanket bog management is to be assessed in this area and on which options (if any) may prove suitable for areas where peat/ bog could be at risk of failure
