The background for Gjerdrum municipality wanting to use Johansen Monumenthuggeri AS for this project can be summarised with the following, for us, relevant points:
The municipality is working to establish a separate memorial down in the existing ravine area, where the Gjerdrum avalanche went. A special-designed granite floor shall be established in this area, which the tenderer shall shed and assemble. The granite is particularly taken out and forms the basis for the artistic expression that is agreed upon.
The tenderer has long and unique experience with the production of stone works for monuments, pieces of art and decoration projects with particularly high requirements for design and detail.
