At the Molecular Biology Laboratory we need to quality assure the integrity of nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) preparations and then mainly RNA. We clean a larger number of RNA and DNA preparations annually and for downstream analyses such as quantitative PCs and deep sequences, it is important that the preparations are of high quality and integrity. We have previously used automated electroforese of nucleic acids with the help of the Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 for this purpose. We have now replaced the instrument with a TapeStation from Matriks.
