The construction of a co-located, purpose-built, GMP-compliant 1) Stem Cell Tissue Establishment (Ground Floor) and 2) Aseptic Compounding Unit (1st Floor) at CUH to provide best practice cancer treatment to patients in the south of Ireland on the grounds of CUH. This joint proposal for the development of the TE and ACU would achieve the following: Increase capacity as per National Cancer Registry Ireland (NCRI) projections. Improve patient and staff safety and compliance with GMP, health and safety and all other relevant legislation and standards. Enhance activity and value for money, reducing outsourcing, and further expand services, currently CUH is not providing optimal treatment in respect of Stem Cell Treatment and cellular therapies (CAR-T). Improved resilience and assured continuity of supply for CUH and other HSE South hospitals. Expansion of clinical trials and more specialised advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMP) trials facilitated. An additional 2nd Floor to accommodate a Covid-19 testing laboratory utilizing PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) machine. The lab also manages a routine workload for other viral and bacterial tests. Net Floor Area - 1020m2 Site Area - 1500m2 Approx. NCV - €27 M
