Dublin Port Company (hereinafter called ‘DPC’) is a self financing, private limited Company wholly owned by the State, whose business is to manage Dublin Port, Ireland’s premier port. Established as a corporate entity in 1997, DPC is responsible for the port's management, control, operation, and development. DPC provides worldclass facilities, services, accommodation, and lands in the harbour for ships, goods, and passengers. DPC utilises several terminals to serve the travelling public and import and export cargo. Total throughput for 2024 was circa 35.2 million gross tonnes for the year, with 6,845 ship arrivals. On the passenger side, 1.6 million travelled through the port in 2024. Further information is available at our corporate website www.dublinport.ie. To support the delivery of projects aligned with our Masterplan and sustainability goals, we are initiating a procurement process for insurance brokerage services. DPC requires that the successful Broker be responsible for the placement of a range of insurance including but not limited to the following: i. ‘All risks cover’ on DPC’s Property portfolio, quays, quay walls, quay furniture and breakwaters; ii. ‘All risks cover’ on DPC’s cranes, Ro/Ro ramps, linkspans, oil jetties and miscellaneous equipment including pumps, receivers, boilers, pontoons, dolphins, gangways, dock gates, oil pipelines and computer equipment including a vessel tracking system, typical to the Operation of a Major Port Facility; iii. Accidental damage and malicious loss cover on the DPC’s marine fleet; iv. Property Damage; v. Liability covers including Public/Terrorism/Product/Motor/Environmental and other such items that are typical to the operation of a Major Port Facility; vi. Cyber Liability; vii. Business Interruption; viii. Employer’s Liability; ix. Legal Liability; x. Fidelity Guarantee; xi. Engineering Inspection; xii. Motor vehicles cover; xiii. Personal Accident Policy (to include travel and assault); xiv. Personal Accident Policy (vehicles); xv. Directors and Officers Liability Cover; xvi. Terrorism Cover; xvii. Pension Trustee Liability; xviii. Employment Practices Liability; xix. Placement of Bonds as required; xx. And others that might be typically associated with the operation of a Major Port Facility. Insurance cover currently in place for DPC is broken down into four main areas: a. Port Package – the current Port Package is a consolidated package incorporating the following main elements: Legal/Public Liability Property Marine, Hull and Machinery Loss of Revenue/Business Interruption b. Employers Liability c. Motor Cover d. Other Miscellaneous Policies, including Management Liability, Travel, Engineering Inspection, Cyber, Pilot Bond, etc. To promote responsible and sustainable supply chain practices in line with industry best practice, DPC has partnered with Achilles, a leading global provider of supply chain risk management services. Achilles Supply Line has operated in Ireland for over 25 years and will be used as a qualification system for this competition. DPC will conduct its prequalification questionnaire (PQQ) process via the Achilles SupplyLine Platform. During registration, applicants must apply one or both of the following Achilles SupplyLine Codes: • 2.42.2 Insurance Services • 2.42.16 Insurance Brokerage Organisations already registered on Achilles SupplyLine must ensure that: their registration is valid the relevant codes listed above are included in their profile, and their questionnaire information is complete and up to date. All supplier information must be published on Achilles SupplyLine by no later than Wednesday 11th June 2025. Failure to register with Achilles as set out above will result in exclusion from further participation in the procurement process.
